 So on Christmas day some yahoo decided it would be a good idea to light a low end explosive on a Delta plane headed from Amsterdam to Detroit. Now, by low end explosive, I'm talking black cats…maybe a cherry bomb type explosion. People reported hearing a "pop" and then seeing fire, so clearly it wasn't some impressive IED.

 Right now Al Queda is claiming it as their handiwork, and say that they were testing a new kind of explosive that would pass security. Given that their supposed man failed miserably and provided us with the remains of the explosive device, I'd say that it won't be passing security for long.

 People are all up in arms because Obama hasn't raised the threat meter (but does anyone actually ever pay attention to it anyway?). They are taking measures to prevent a repeat occurence, but considering that he boarded in Amsterdam, they may want to work with the Netherlands to improve. It doesn't help if we're the only one's buffing up security.

 Not to mention that "fighting" it just makes the problem worse. It's kind of like trying to knock down a hornet's nest with a broom. Sure, you may destroy the nest – but the hornets are going to sting the hell out of you and then move on to another location.

 The funny part is people are already trying to blame this on Bush or Obama. It shows just how stupid our citizens can be.
